Michael Joseph Jackson (29 August 1958-25 June 2009) was an American artist and entertainer. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he made his professional debut in the music scene for 11 years as a member of The Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 when he was a member of the group.
